For common trades and smaller crews we often place within a few business days; specialized trades or larger crews (5+ workers) typically take about a week. We move as fast as a quality match allows — we'd rather send the right tradesperson than just an available one.
We specialize in 16 skilled-trade categories: electricians, pipefitters, plumbers, HVAC technicians, cable and fiber technicians, construction general labor, electrical infrastructure technicians, carpenters, millwrights, conveyor installers, mechanical technicians, pallet rack installers, welders, ironworkers, concrete finishers, and sheet metal workers. We do NOT staff white-collar office roles, retail, or hospitality — we are construction and industrial only.
Temporary placements work for you on Precision's payroll for a defined project period — we handle taxes, workers' comp, and benefits. Temp-to-hire is a working trial: the worker is on Precision's payroll for 90-520 hours so you can evaluate fit, then convert to your payroll. Direct hire is permanent from day one — we recruit and vet, you hire directly, we charge a one-time placement fee.
For every placement we verify the licenses and certifications your job requires — for licensed trades (electricians, plumbers, HVAC) we confirm state-level credentials directly. Where your site or project calls for it, we also handle background screening, drug testing, and OSHA documentation. We focus on real, verifiable credentials rather than generic skills tests.
Our two offices serve Richmond, Virginia (Central Virginia, Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia) and Charlotte, North Carolina (Charlotte metro, Piedmont Triad, Upstate South Carolina). For specialized trades or large crew needs, we can deploy workers across the East Coast and into surrounding states on a project basis.

We bill at an hourly rate per worker that includes the worker's wage, payroll taxes, workers' compensation, general liability insurance, and our markup. Rates vary by trade (an electrician is priced differently than general labor), by skill level (apprentice vs journeyman vs master), and by location. We're transparent about our markup and provide clear rate sheets — no hidden fees.
